Kiwanda Café Kitchen

With a myriad of flavours on the menu, our home-style dishes are infused with the distinct creative Zarraffa’s Coffee flair.

From our finely ground Zarraffa’s Coffee beans to hand-cut chargrilled bacon, house-made relish and many more enticing flavours, our bespoke menu - featuring all-day breakfast and lunch menu - has been created specifically to entice your tastebuds.

Breakfast highlights include the Cheesecake French Toast, the Avo Smash and the classic Kiwanda Benedict. For lunch-goers, you will fall in love with the Belly Bao Buns, Grilled Lamb Flat Bread or our Kuku Burger.

Freshly baked pastries, cakes and decadent treats adorn the café counter - the perfect accompaniment to an Affogato or an Espresso Martini.

Kiwanda Bar

Fancy a cocktail or boutique beer infused with Zarraffa’s Coffee espresso?

Partnering with Burleigh Brewing in 2010, Zarraffa’s Coffee has continued to work with the renowned brewer to create the unique, award-winning ‘Burleigh Black Giraffe’ beer. Combining 100kgs of 100% Rainforest Alliance coffee beans with Burleigh’s own lager, we invite you to try our, locally produced, rich and flavoursome black coffee lager. Available on tap!

Or, if you’d prefer to sip on a martini, you must pop in for a Kiwanda Espresso Martini. Using the toddy method of extraction, each Espresso Martini is made on a traditional martini base but with the unique and rich flavour of Zarraffa’s Coffee African Masai bean concentrate.

Specialty Coffee

Offering a menu of distinct roasts and flavours, we approach coffee-making as a form of art.

Through our innovative range of select brewing methods, we bring you a uniquely perfect coffee, suited to every taste.

With over 25 years of coffee-making experience, Zarraffa’s Coffee has fostered a passion for producing quality specialty coffee served using our specific espresso techniques.

Expanding upon our traditional coffee-making techniques that have made Zarraffa’s a favourite, Kiwanda Café’s Espresso Bar offers customers new ways to enjoy your freshly-roasted coffee. From Cold Drip and Nitro Brew to Japanese Pour Over, we create a range of distinct and delicious flavours through our unique on-site piccolo air roasting facility.

Cold Drip

Flowing through glass spirals and science-like beakers, cold drip coffee is not for the impatient! A method that takes 18-24 hours to extract, it involves cold water being dripped slowly through freshly ground coffee. This results in more of the fruity flavours being drawn from the beans, which you generally don’t get with the regular espresso method.

Served with milk, cream or enjoyed by itself, Kiwanda Café’s Cold Drip can be made with any Zarraffa’s Coffee bean or the microlot of the month (a small batch of coffee beans, selected each month for their outstanding flavour). Speak to our baristas to try the latest brew.

Nitro

Named from the process of infusing nitrogen with cold brew coffee, the Nitro Brew creates a sweeter, thicker and smoother textured coffee, while also providing a caffeine hit!

Pour Over

Similar to filtered coffee, pour over coffee is made to order and can be used with any type of bean offering available at Kiwanda Cafe. We also prepare a range of hand-selected specialty beans, fresh and ready for brewing each day.

Taking only 2-5 minutes from placing your order to enjoying your first sip, Kiwanda uses the Marco SP9 automatic pour over that recirculates water to offer a controlled volume and consistency in temperature. This ensures that every cup of our Pour Over coffee is perfect.

Piccolo Air Roasters

Kiwanda Café is home to two piccolo air roasters, that perfectly roast small batches of your favourite coffee, just the way you like it.

As one of only a small number of piccolo roasters in Australia, Kiwanda Café provides guests with the opportunity to roast your choice of beans in sizes from 500gm to 2kg. Even better, you’ll wait no longer than 15 minutes from start to finish!

Working in a similar fashion to the larger commercial air roasters currently used in the Zarraffa’s Roastery, the piccolo roasters employ the same air roasting technique that gives our beans their perfect flavours that translate into your favourite drinks.

Whether it’s a take-home pack of the Zarraffa’s Coffee signature home blend, African Masai, or a 500gm treat of a hard-to-find microlot single origin, make the migration with your preferred coffee profiles at Kiwanda Café.

Specialty Coffee Beans

Using our piccolo air roasters, Kiwanda Café is able to roast a wider variety of coffee more often, which results in a faster roasting time.

Offering both our single origin and gourmet Zarraffa’s Coffee blends, we also invite you to try our microlot beans, which will be available at different times throughout the year. Similar to the flavour profiles of our current offerings, our carefully selected microlot beans introduce you to new coffee profiles, taking you on a unique flavour journey.

Microlots are coffee beans that can range from 5 to 100 bags from a single farm with a 80+ specialty coffee grading. While most come from one farm, they may also be the ‘cream of the crop’ from an estate or cooperative. Speak to our baristas about trying some of the latest microlot bean varieties.
